Hunting visa is not enough to give you the right to bring weapons and ammunition. Arriving in the country where you will hunt you have to show the invitation from a Russian hunting club or a company including this information: weapon number, calibre, producer, amount and type of ammunition. Weapons and breechblocks have to be transferred separately in lockable and steady case. Parts of a weapon cannot be carried in your hand baggage. The weapon has to be shown at the moment of entering the country. An organizer has to ask the Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation for permission to import and then present it to customs officers while entering the country. Note that this has to include the number of your hunting license and the permission for purchasing and keeping weapons in your country.

Import of pistols and revolvers is strictly prohibited.
